You can ORDER YOUR 2027 METAPHYSICIAN’S DAY PLANNER HERE, which is customized with your natal chart and solar return chart for the year, plus any keyword or phrase you want on the front inner cover page, for $20.
Choose between three size options: Trade, US Letter, or A4 European. Then choose your cover art design. We send you a Dropbox folder with dozens upon dozens of options, and also, for the slightly more design-inclined, the specs for designing your own cover.
Nevertheless, every year I design cover art for my own MDP, and then share it with you, in case you want to use it, too. It comes in all of the three size options.
The 2027 cover art design is sourced from L’Animal dans la Décoration (1897), first published in Paris by Verneuil, M. P. (Maurice Pillard), and Eugène Grasset. This print features “Goat Heads; Flamingo; Kingfishers, Dragonflies, Reeds, and Water Lillies; Rabbits and Thrush.” Inside the arched window is art from the same manual, titled “Macaws and Plane Trees.”
The blue one you see above, though, only comes in the Trade size. After making the original reddish-orange one, and then the alternate violet one, I decided to make my own a bit more corporate-friendly, since I do carry this to the office. The blue one matches the trade colors of the organization I work for, so I thought that was kind of a neat subtle nod.
Front Pages
The first page in the interior is also customized with your choice of word or key phrase. To me, doing this for yourself before a year commences is really important intention-setting.
Then, in addition, the day planner is customized with your natal chart on one side of a page spread, and your 2027 solar return chart on the other side.
Year-at-a-Glance
When the new year starts, I set three main priorities for the year, make notes to myself on the mindset I want to maintain throughout the year, and also, write down what I feel will make the year feel successful to me, and then revisit this at the end of the year. This is also the page for high-level goal setting.
There are annual forecast page spreads in the “Year-at-a-Glance” section as well, some pre-printed for you done by yours truly, and some blank page spreads, such as the month by month tarot card draw pages for you to write in your own personalized forecasts.
I also have project trackers, which was new to last year’s MDP, found it super helpful, and am repeating in this year’s MDP.
Quarterly Planning
Quarterly planning pages have changed this year, for the first time in, I think, a decade. See above for the new 2027 page layout design. You can click on any of these image files for a close-up zoomed in view.
Month-at-a-Glance
2027’s Month-at-a-Glance pages feature the same content as previous years, but slightly re-arranged. Now, each month has two two-page page spreads. The first page spread is what you see above, and should be familiar to those who’ve gotten MDPs for years.
Then the second of the two page spreads for each month is what you see above. On the left side was a new feature I added last year, which worked out really well for me this year 2026, so I’m repeating it again. And then on its opposite side, a “before the month starts” goal setting column and then a “post-month reflection” column you revisit when the month is over, to track your goals and holistic health metrics on a month by month basis.
This new page is a re-work of what used to be the quarterly planning pages. I found that tracking it quarterly meant I was dropping the ball, and then totally not picking it up at all for the rest of the year. Hopefully if I track it monthly, I’ll do better. =)
I really like these specific categories. They’re general enough that you can customize it to your specific needs. First row is to focus on that month’s priorities, which should be supportive of those Three Main Priorities you had set for 2027 in the Year-at-a-Glance section.
Then it’s about health and fitness of your body, then reflecting on your dietary habits to make sure you’re treating food as holistic medicine, and then it’s intentional decision-making per your definition and perspective of prosperity.
Social belonging and intimacy in relationships is also important for overall well-being, so this page also has you reflecting on what you’re doing in terms of cultivating the important relationships in your life.
Finally, “the deep work,” whatever that means to you, and reminding yourself to reserve time, on a monthly basis, for deep, undistracted personal spirituality time.
The above are excerpted snapshots from reference pages newly added this past year, to help you interpret the ephemeris tables and read astrological transits.
Weekly Page Spread
And then we have what makes up the bulk of the day planner pages: the Dailies, which are Week-at-a-Glance page spreads.
For me, this is where I write out my daily task lists for work, track the cases and projects I’m working on, both for the day job and also for Benebell Wen stuff.
Really, really great days, I’ll make a little personal emotional note of it for my own records, for that day. Really, really bad days, I’ll make a mood note for that, too. And then many years later, when you flip through one of your old MDPs, it’s so cool to see that year in review.
Establishing a daily habit of writing things down in my MDP has been incredible. I’ve found myself having to recall what transpired on X date 7 years ago, and being able to do exactly that by looking it up in my MDP for that year.
End Pages
Of course you need a couple of blank note pages to do whatever you need to do with them. After 11 years of tinkering with page count for this section, I feel like I’ve gotten it down to the perfect number of blank note pages. Every year now, I use up exactly all the blank pages I have back here.
For those of you frequent or repeat users of the MDP, let me know how the blank note pages have been working for you.
The back “grimoire” pages remain the same, with a few new minor adds. I have found it so personally and developmentally important to carry these reference tables with me everywhere, right there at the ready in my day planner that’s with me at all times.
By referring to them frequently throughout the year, repeatedly, year after year, you come to master them, having committed a lot of this information by heart. You’ll find metaphysical correspondence tables and reference charts for both eastern and western occult systems.
The end pages also contain some more before-the-year planning pages that you then revisit after the year ends to reflect on your own progress. This has been invaluable for my own personal growth. Sure, I’m often disappointed when I realize I haven’t really made the leaps in progress I had so optimistically aspired for when the year began. But it also lights a fire under my butt to do better the year after.
And sure enough, year after year of this persistent goal-setting and post-year reflections, I make baby steps of personal improvement. But those baby steps of progress have made a world of difference in terms of my growth in abilities and capacity, and most importantly, health and wellness.
This final page spread has been in the MDP for years now, and I find it really useful. Goal-setting per the subject matter of the 12 astrological houses helps me to make sure I’m being holistic and balanced, paying attention to every aspect of life.
I like to craft my own sigils for the goal I’ve set for each of these 12 areas of life, and then draw that sigil into the astrological house space you see above.
And then the ways I use that final “notes to self” and “personal care notes” is hard to neatly categorize. All sorts of random information that I want at my fingertips goes back here.
That last page template is for you to cut out and tape together a little folder pocket. Once you print out your day planner as a spiral bound book (which I do through Lulu.com), I cut out that gray shaded part, then tape the right and bottom edges to the page behind it and voila! A very useful back pocket folder.
Not to mention all the random notes I end up writing on that folder page itself. When I revisit all my old MDPs from years back, it’s always amusing to see what I end up writing there.
You may recall last year we had a bit of a situation where I had melodramatically declared I would not be doing MDPs anymore, but then because so many of you wrote in to me, we did decide to bring it back. After all, I figured, I was going to do one for myself anyway. Mind as well just add in a little more extra effort, and make it so you can have one, too.
