These are snapshots of two sibling Lenormand decks by Logan Townsend of Lark and Legend, who also has a fantastic TarotTube channel.
If you’d like to see a video walk-through of both decks side by side, check out this video by the creator.
The Black Salt Lenormand has the emblems printed in metallic silver while the Pink Sugar Lenormand has the emblems printed in metallic gold, though both have that rainbow holographic effect. Both come with a fold-out pamphlet of keywords for card meanings and a beautiful magnetic clasp keepsake box.
There is a nostalgia to this deck for 90s kids. I love that the first card is Skater instead of Rider, reminiscent of the skating rinks we’d hang out at in junior high and high school.
Now let’s take a look at each deck.
Black Salt Lenormand

The Black Salt Lenormand is a 40-card Lenormand with 2 alternate person cards (a total of 4 options for significators), 1 alternate Whip card, and 1 alternate Cross. They’re standard Lenormand size (around 57 x 87 mm) and really luxe high-quality cardstock.
Black Salt is the cool kid who sits in the back of the classroom with headphones on and nails painted onyx. For those who like to select their working decks to coordinate with the seasons, I see this as a great public reading deck for Halloween, which is right around the corner.
I love the silver metallic emblems with that rainbow holographic sheen. Love the kitsune mask for the Fox card! And I’m tickled that the Star card is inspired by Sailor Moon! (I picked up on that immediately, being a Sailor Moon fan.)
These Lenormand decks were made with Gen Xers and older Millennials in mind. I love the snake game we used to play on our TI-85 scientific calculators in the Snake card, the Nintento game-boy for Child, roller skates, or the email icon for Letter.
And I absolutely love the Tomagotchi on the Burden card (an alternate for the Cross card)!
That Birds card is one of my favorites!
Look at how that rainbow holographic shiny works on that Anchor card!
Is that the Charmed Book of Shadows? And a Ring Pop! =)
Here’s a snapshot of all the cards in sequential order:

Pink Sugar Lenormand
(click on link to Etsy page)
The Pink Sugar Lenormand is like the fraternal twin to the Black Salt Lenormand– same emblems, same alternate cards, but there are differences in the physical appearance.
There’s a soft-focus pastel pink floral and bubbles background that the gold foil emblems are printed on, whereas the Black Salt Lenormand was a solid velvety black.
If Black Salt is the cool kid, Pink Sugar is the effervescent popular prep. It’s pretty and chic.
There’s a holographic rainbow coating to the metallic gold, though it comes out more prominently in the Black Salt Lenormand, and is more subtle in the Pink Sugar Lenormand.
Poll: How many people reading this right now at one point had a Tomagotchi?
And from this angle you can see the metallic gold. These pocket-size decks are great for carrying around on the go. If you’re studying the Lenormand by doing daily or weekly three-card draws, either the Black Salt or the Pink Sugar would be a perfect deck for that.
See that subtle pale blue bubble in the backdrop of the Moon card? I love these little details that add a depth and dimension to the design.
Oh, and the alternate whip card? Instead of the traditional whip you might think of, it’s a strawberry with whip cream on top!– that was the classic late night snack at slumber parties!
The cat tree for the Tower card! Too adorbs! Love the little detail of the butterfly in the Crossroads card to signify the butterfly effect! More cat toys– see the Mice card!
I like the bold contrast to the Black Salt Lenormand, where the rainbow holographic effect pops more, but I like the dreamy whimsy and cotton-candy pure-of-heart goodness of the Pink Sugar.
