Great Lakes Oracle: Freshwater Energy Cards

This is a quick look-see and walk-through of a beautiful ink and watercolor oracle deck I received. The Great Lakes Oracle: Freshwater Energy (Everyday Treasures Edition) is illustrated by Sarah Palmer and comes with a guidebook written by Colleen Footit.

The Great Lakes reminds me of childhood summer vacations. Having grown up in upstate New York, I’m most familiar with Lake Erie and Lake Ontario. This deck is personal to me. It is nostalgia. Palmer’s art style is very much emblematic of Americana and the Naturalism Movement.

You are getting 42 art cards that inspire meditation and deep inner reflection. I love the empowering elemental Water energy that this oracle deck is imbued by, and how it keenly attunes you to the Water elemental. “Each card has the heart of a mariner,” writes Footit. “Listen as it tells you its story.”

These cards are printed in a state that touches one of the Great Lakes, notes the guidebook. And so through and through, at every step of creation and design, this oracle deck is infused with freshwater energy.

These paintings memorialize the industries of the Great American Rustbelt, wildflowers of the region, animals, landscapes, stones, and topography.

Work with the symbolism of driftwood, of ships and shipwrecks, sunrises and moon tides, the Tahquamenon Falls to the Mackinac Bridge.

Work with the cards through their corresponding affirmations, which you’ll find in the poetically written guidebook. Footit’s writing inspires your imagination, vision work, and self-reflection.

From observing sea lamprey to traversing the Sleeping Bear Dunes and marveling at the ancient power of Petoskey stones, these art cards that also double as a nature-based oracle tool expresses the majesty and beauty of North America. In your mind and in astral spirit, hike these landscapes. Stay a while at the lakeside cabins.

Feel the cold water of Whitefish Bay and upon your skin, the gales of November. See the color change of the forest leaves. Pick cherries and gather mussels. Experience the Northern Lights.

The deck also comes in an eco-friendly and environmentally-conscious linen bag and is packaged in a fully-recyclable mailer. What’s more, for each purchase of the deck, Footit and Palmer donate $10 of your purchase to the Superior Watershed Partnership.

To learn more about this deck and purchase your own copy of the eco-friendly Great Lakes Oracle, visit their website here or locate a store near you that carries these decks. By the way, I love the companion paraphernalia offerings you can get along with the deck, like copper harmonizers, chakra wands, pendulums, tumbled natural copper nuggets from Michigan’s Keweenaw Peninsula, gemstone stand, and so much more.

FTC Disclosure: In accordance with Title 16 of the U.S. Code of Federal Regulations Part 255, “Guides Concerning Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising,” I received the oracle deck and guidebook set from the creators for prospective review. Everything I’ve said here is sincere and accurately reflects my opinion of the deck and book set.

Thankyou Bell for this review. I always LOVE personally made cards so much more than images heavily reliant on technology. There is an authenticity of connection which allows me as the reader to psychically link to. The Great Lakes Oracle are superb watercolors. Sweet love for the environment is definitely felt through the artists rendering. The shop on their website is great too! Beautiful stones and copper items at decent prices. Congratulations to them, I hope this project is well supported.
