I Ching and the Practitioner: A Course on the Book of Changes

Apologies! The I Ching and the Practitioner online course is no longer available.

However, if you’re interested in studying the I Ching through the lens of Taoist mysticism, my third book with North Atlantic Books, I Ching, The Oracle: A Practical Guide to the Book of Changes is forthcoming in the summer of 2023.

The text will be an updated translation of the Oracle, with a full roster of practicum that will introduce you to East Asian occultism and ritual magic.

Stay tuned!

    1. Hi Shad! Oh crap, I am so sorry about that! I copied and pasted over from somewhere else and forgot to adjust to $42. It’s $42. So sorry. Eyes blurred from all the work I’ve been doing! ^_^*

    1. Hi Eleanor! I’m aiming for August, but the book and text files will be sent immediately upon order. The reason for the pre-order setup before having finished the videos is because the printer I’ll be recommending if enrollees choose to print out a paperback copy of the book for themselves is having some awesome discount deals for July only, and I didn’t want people to miss out on those deals. Otherwise, printing price in August and onward may go up. That’s the only reason for the pre-order. 😀 Be sure to join the FB group, though! Even non-enrollees are welcome in that group to talk all things I Ching, esoteric Taoism, and craft. https://www.facebook.com/groups/314048459054751/

    Hi Benebell,
This looks great. I am a fan of your online courses, and I hope to enroll. I just wanted to clarify — once the course materials are completely finished, will the course be available for a while? And is this a ‘lifetime access to the videos & work at your own pace’ kind of setup? I would love to sign up but it won’t be in the budget for about two months (new job starting) and also, with being quite busy, want to make sure I give myself the time to work through this in-depth given my unfamiliarity with the material.
    Thanks;
    Laura

    1. Hi Laura! Yes, I think the course should be available for a while. It’s live now. 🙂 I might raise the price in the future, though. Yes, lifetime access to all work! It is self-paced plus a FB group for support. 🙂

Hi Bell! Just watched your video. Ordered the book from Lulu but don’t have the technical skills to ‘make it my own’. Ha ha–as you know very well! Might be traveling when the course opens but will keep watching my email and FB. Hope to get those oracle cards printed. When might those be finished?

    Hello Benebell,
First of all, I would like to thank you for your hard work that you kindly share with your readers. I love to read your blog posts, I find them very insightful and refreshing. This is my first comment on your website and to be honest I rarely comment anything on the Internet, so I’ll try to do it the right way.
I have a couple of questions about I Ching and I would love to know your view on these matters.
    1) I’ve red somewhere that The I Ching book/books should be placed as high as possible beneath the seekers head. What’s more, they should be wrapped in white silk?
    2) Is there any special way to consecrate/prepare the coins or yarrow stick for work ( besides the way you described in one of your articles here: https://benebellwen.com/2017/03/10/an-i-ching-and-tarot-divination-how-to-give-this-a-try/)
    3) In this article, you have mentioned a way to prepare the coins with rice method. I wonder if you have described it in the I Ching course of yours.
I would love to respect and follow the tradition as much as possible. I’m a bit of a detail freak and I would like to devote to the system as much as I can (Yeah, I’m a Virgo 😊)
Ps. Sorry for mistakes in the comment, but English is not my native language. I tried my best here 😊
    Thank you,
    Varda

  15. Is the Facebook group still active for this? I tried to join a couple of days ago just to see what it’s like, but I haven’t been approved yet and it looks like you’ve been away from FB this past month.

    Hi!

Are you still offering this course? I’m very interested since you still have this post up from 2017. I just requested to be a member on the fb group!
